Many attendees at the World Rhythm Festival travel from their home cities and countries to celebrate the most vibrant rhythmaculture in America. To better accommodate our visitors, we are listing the following resources to make your trip to the World Rhythm Festival a pleasant one.
Special Group RateWe've had groups arrange for a special group rate at our favorite hotel for all members of our Drumcircles community attending the Seattle World Rhythm Festival. The Queen Anne is the closest hotel (about a 5 minute walk) to the Seattle Center (where everything at the WRF takes place); there's a supermarket right across the street from the hotel and a bunch of various types of places to eat in all different price ranges are close at hand. SWPS is not aware of a special rate being negotiated for the 2005 festival. If you are aware of such a rate, please forward the details to ed@swps.org.
Recommended HotelThe Seattle World Percussion Society uses The Inn at Queen Anne for accommodations for Artists. Group rates are also available for those attending the festival. The hotel has a total of 68 rooms, offers a continental breakfast included in the room price; many rooms have 2 beds, they have a free wine reception on Sat afternoons, a free Van service to get around downtown Seattle, all rooms have a kitchenette w/ cooking utensils, small under-the-counter fridge, large closets, TV, etc. They also have a lovely outdoor courtyard. The hotel is a very short 5 minute walk from all the World Rhythm Festival events. They do not have valet service, parking facilities, elevators or anything fancy. The place is very utilitarian and very clean. And a big plus is that there are a bunch of good Chinese restaurants within a one block walk and a supermarket right across the street (with a big parking lot) that seems to stay open pretty late.
